Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most borders.
The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge casino, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel compound that contains a number of comforts on top of the casino, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
